2014年8月3日16时30分,云南省昭通市鲁甸县发生MS6.5地震,震中位于(27.1°N, 103.3°E),震源深度12 km,极震区烈度为IX度.据中国地震局(CEA)网站信息,这次地震共造成617人死亡,112人失踪及3143人受伤,虽然此次地震的震级相对较低,但对区域及邻区造成了重大的人员伤亡和经济损失,引起了国内外的高度关注.
