The most important characteristic of emergency airway is its urgency and unpredictability.It is basic skillset for emergency physicians to ensure that the ventilation and oxygenation is good,which is of great value for patients with critical illness.A clinical study of difficult airway and difficult intubation showed that the incidence rate was as high as 3.2％.However,emergency patients are often in critical condition,they sometimes can not cope with the airway secretion,and even a variety of trauma patients have neck injury.These conditions can increase the difficulty of intubation or the chances of intubation failure.In recent years,many scholars at home and abroad have done a great deal of research on the commonly used airway opening techniques in emergency.The following article reviews the common techniques used in emergency airway opening.
