Abstract
•In patient with atrial fibrillation and contraindication to anticoagulant therapy, percutaneous closure system placement may be indicated to avoid migration of left atrial appendage thrombus.•Cardiac computed tomography angiography plays a central role in the initial assessment as well as in the post-implantation follow-up.•The role of pre-implantation cardiac CT angiography is to evaluate left atrial appendage anatomy to select the most suitable prosthesis and check for any contraindication to device placement.•Follow-up involves CT examination to check the device placement and detect any complication.
