摘要
Objective To explore clinical detection for the localization of tumor induced osteomalacia ( TIO ) by analyzing 1 case and literature review. Methods One case of TIO was studied and relevant literatures were reviewed. Its clinical manifestations, pathomorpholodical characteristics and imaging features were analyzed. A 39-year-old female was admitted to the hospital due to lower extremity weakness with body aches. Laboratory examinations were applied. Rdionuclide scanning, MRI and Ga-PET / CT were used to localize the tumor. Results Laboratory examinations showed low phosphorus. Calcium, parathyroid hormone and tumor markers were normal. Tumors located around the sacrum. The serum phosphorus concentration increased to normal after tumor resection. After the discharge, the patient took calcium carbonate D3, calcitriol till recovered to the normal 1 month later. More than 2 years' follow-up was conducted. No pain, fatigue or other symptoms were found. Daily life returned to the normal. Conclusions Localization of the tumor is very important in the treatment of TIO. Malignant signs may not be obvious in images. Most tumors grow slowly, while are difficult to be found or diagnosed. Proper detection method should be chosen.
