小茴香嫩茎叶可作为蔬菜食用,其果实成熟后是一种常见调味品及香料,同时也是我国传统的中药,在国际上小茴香主要用于提取精油.随着人们生活水平的提高,对具较高营养价值及保健功效的小茴香越发青睐.对小茴香生物学特性、高产栽培技术、化学成分、生物活性、综合开发利用等方面进行研究形成综述,以期为进一步深入研究和发展小茴香产业提供借鉴.
