研究了作为三北防护林当家树种的杨树林对大气CO2的固定和释放O2的生态功能,并对其价值进行了估计.结果表明,三北防护林中杨树林2000年固定CO2量为59.8107×107t,释放O2的净总量为7.2498×107t;贡献价值为2.23079×107万元,并以每年新增15.4608×105万元的速度增长;其对缓解大气的温室效应发挥着巨大的作用.
