一、概况
女山湖位于安徽省明光市东北部,江淮分水岭以北,淮河以南,湖泊水深1.5～2.5m,呈河迹形,为郯庐断裂带局部凹陷洼地积水而成.女山湖南纳池河来水,正常蓄水位13.5m,相应蓄水量17.8亿m3,湖区自磨山至女山湖镇,与池河互为一体,南北长40km,宽1 ～5km,北经女山湖节制闸汇于七里湖,于洪山头入淮河.2006年4月,女山湖经安徽省政府批准设立为省级湿地自然保护区.
