Fourier-temporal ghost imaging

•A new technology combines the characteristics of time-domain ghost imaging and a Fourier transform to directly obtain the spectral information of the signal.•The time-varying light intensity with a definite sinusoidal and cosine distribution is employed.•Very simple, inexpensive and robust design of experimental setup.
