Increasing levels of de-oiled wet distillers grains in feedlot diets on nutrient digestibility, ruminal fermentation and microbiology

•Increasing levels of wet distillers grains can shift propionate concentration in ruminal fluid.•Results showed WDG can be fed in finishing diets to improve energy intake with optimum level at 300 g/kg dietary inclusion.•We observed a tendency to increase S. ruminantium population with increasing levels of wet distillers grains.
