Pressurized mixture of CO2 and propane for enhanced extraction of non-edible vegetable oil

•Recovery of non-edible vegetable oils using pressurized CO2 and propane as solvent is industrially attractive.•High oil yields for processes at low temperature with high propane content in the solvent mixture.•Kinetic behavior of the extractions could be represented by empirical models.•Adjustment of experimental parameters enabled selective extraction of different fatty acid classes.•Non-edible oils and active compounds could be obtained at high yields from seeds and beans by extraction with pressurized CO2 and propane.
