Rapid synergistic cloud point extraction for simultaneous determination of five polar phenols in environmental water samples via high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection

•A rapid synergistic cloud point extraction was first developed for the simultaneous extraction of multiple polar phenols.•N-Pentanol was used as a synergistic reagent to eliminate the barriers to extracting polar phenols from water.•Simple and fast rapid synergistic cloud point extraction at room temperature in 7 min.•All of the extraction efficiencies were higher than 86%.
