Understanding of molecular interactions between ethyl acetate and 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide: A thermophysical study

•Density, speed of sound and refractive index measured at (298.15–323.15) K of [Bmim][NTf2] with Ethyl Acetate.•Various Ionic Liquids with Ethyl Acetate density was compared at 298.15 K.•Increasing chain length of cations of IL along with EtoAc shows the order of [Omim][NTf2] < [Bmim][NTf2] < [Emim][NTf2].•From experimental data excess or deviation properties were obtained and correlated.
