•The most common psychiatric disorder was social anxiety disorder for the CPP group.•SDQ-prosocial behavior scale scores were significantly higher in girls with CPP.•Being a victim of bullying was found significantly more common in girls with CPP.•Girls with CPP should be screened for peer-victimization.
