Cholesterol transfer to HDL in physically active compared to sedentary young subjects
Atherosclerosis(2020)
Abstract
Background and Aims: Subjects that practice aerobic exercise show higher levels of anti-atherogenic HDL-C. However, HDL-C only partially reflects the HDL protection against atherosclerosis; other metabolic and functional aspects of HDL should be evaluated. Here, transfer rates of cholesterol to HDL, previously related with protection against coronary artery disease were investigated in physically active young subjects compared to young sedentary ones.
