Measurement of brightness performance in viewing window based electronic holographic display system

In this paper, we propose a method for evaluating the brightness performance of reproduced holographic images by quantitatively measuring its optical power in a viewing-window based electronic holographic display system. In general, lasers as coherent light sources are adopted in the playback process of digital holograms. The laser light source used to reproduce the hologram is one of the important factors that greatly affect the brightness performance. By considering the optical properties of light source, we will quantitatively measure and evaluate it on the viewing-window based electronic holographic display system. To evaluate the brightness performance perceived by the human eye, we will present the approach to convert the measured optical power of hologram image signal into photometric term. By referring to our proposed method, it is expected to suggest how to measure and improve the brightness of the viewing-window based electronic holographic display system.
