Hysteresis Characteristics Analysis of a Flux-coupling type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter
ieee international conference on applied superconductivity and electromagnetic devices(2020)
Abstract
Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is one of the effective ways to solve the problem of excessive short-circuit current in power system. A flux-coupling type SFCL (FC-SFCL) is developed in this paper. Sometimes, an iron core is inserted in the current-limiting unit of the FC-SFCL to improve the current-limiting inductance. Considering the influence of the core hysteresis effect on the current-limiting characteristics and operating process of the limiter, a calculation method for the operating state of the FC-SFCL combined with MATLAB + COMSOL is proposed. The results can provide theoretical guidance for effectively suppressing or solving the hysteresis problem of the limiter.
