Abstract
In order to improve power quality of the distributed wind generation, a voltage source converter (VSC) based interline superconducting magnetic energy storage (ISMES) device is proposed. Multiple feeders are connected in parallel with the SMES device on a DC bus through converters. The device realizes reactive power support through VSC control during voltage sags. By adjusting the power output of superconducting coils, wind turbine and un-fault feeders, the dc-link voltage is maintained constant. The device is both economical and practical.
