Microstructure and tribological properties of Fe-based amorphous coating prepared by detonation spray

•Fe-based amorphous coatings were prepared by detonation spray.•The microstructure and microhardness control the wear rate of coatings.•At low oxygen-fuel ratio and sliding speed (0.1 m/s), oxidative wear dominates.•At high oxygen-fuel ratio and sliding speed (0.8 m/s), delamination wear dominates.
