With the development of power system towards UHV and intelligence, more and more secondary equipment is applied near gas insulated switchgear (GIS). When GIS switches are operated, transient disturbance will affect the secondary system through the grounding grid, resulting in the misoperation or even damage of the secondary equipment. In this paper, the characteristics of influence of transient current injected into grounding grid on the transient ground potential rise distribution is measured in Zhashui 330 kV substation, Shanxi Province. The transient current is from a transient current generator. The influence of transient current flowing into grounding grid on the secondary system is analyzed, and the potential difference between two ends of secondary cable is reduced by adding grounding copper bar.
