Simulation and Analysis of Radar Echo of Wind Turbine Blades Based on Shooting and Bouncing Ray Technique

Accurately acquiring radar echoes from wind turbines is the key to solving the passive interference of wind farms to radar stations. Because the existing superposition model of scattering points cannot achieve accurate simulation of wind turbine echoes in the background of the earth, a wind turbine echo simulation algorithm based on the SBR is proposed considering multipath scattering theory. Considering the influence of the ground on wind turbine echoes, an infinitely good ground model was established. The ray tracing technology combined with physical optics was used to solve the wind turbine-ground coupled scattering fields under different paths. Short-time Fourier transform was used. The time-frequency domain data of the echo are acquired by transformation, and the analysis of the Doppler characteristic parameters is realized. Finally, the control variable method is used to simulate the echo of a typical wind turbine, and the influence of different parameters on the Doppler characteristics of the wind turbine echo is analyzed. Therefore, the Doppler characteristic analysis of the blade echo under the background of the earth is realized. The results show that the presence of the ground makes the Doppler characteristic parameters contained in the wind turbine echo more complicated, which is consistent with the outdoor true experimental measurement results. In the study, the influence of the ground on the echo of the wind turbine needs to be considered.
