An electrochemical aptasensor of malathion based on ferrocene/DNA-hybridized MOF, DNA coupling-gold nanoparticles and competitive DNA strand reaction

•The CP-MOF-Fc complex could significantly increase the electrochemical signal intensity and improve the sensitivity.•The prepared sensor showed a linear range of 25–850 ng L−1 for malathion.•The proposed aptasensor showed high resistance to the interference pesticides and demonstrated the potential for real samples analysis.
