Abstract
The paper presents a review and evaluation of global energy fossil resources. At least for next several dozens of years hard and brown coal, as well as natural gas and oil will be world's basic energy sources. This is well displayed by Current energy carrier consumption trends, especially regarding natural gas or heavy oil ones. Promising prospectives are Occurring for unconventional energy sources like coal bed released methane or gas hydrates. Having defined such background, several conclusions and recommendations for Polish Energy Policy have been expressed.
