The look of young people in high school about the Pampa biome

Abstract
This research has identified and characterized the perceptions of students of the last year of elementary education, living in two regions of Rio Grande do Sul about the Pampa biome. 240 students from two regions of the state participated in the study and the data were obtained through the elaboration of a free Pampa design and the listing of species associated with the biome. The drawings were submitted to a process of qualitative and statistical analysis. As a result, the study pointed out that students have a poor knowledge about Pampa's biodiversity, and that the biome which they live and the place of residence of the participants (rural and urban) interfere in their perceptions.The lack of knowledge about the biome in focus can be attributed to the restricted approach that the theme receives in daily school life and also in the society.
