•Spinal Ewing sarcoma/peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor (ES/pPNET) is a rare.•A total of 40 case reports of ES/pPNET of the cervical spine were analyzed.•Adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery was associated with longer survival.
