Abstract
Optimization of the tribological properties of composites (AA7150/10 wt% WC) manufactured via melt stirring casting route utilizing Taguchi's S/N analysis was assessed. Taguchi's approach was employed and L9 orthogonal array was elected for performing the wear tests. The optimum process parameters are determined to minimize the wear characteristics of the composite. Further, ANOVA outcome also exhibits that the sliding distance, applied load and the sliding velocity serves an imperative function in the reduction of wear (gram). The values of the experiments are in accordance with the Taguchi approach. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
