Phosphorus-containing star-shaped polymer conjugates for biomedical applications

•A novel star-shaped polymer with oligo(oxyethylene H-phosphonate) arms was obtained.•Star-shaped polyphosphoramidates bearing glucopyranosyl or AZT residues were obtained.•The star-shaped glycopolymer forms complexes with the lectin Concanavalin A.•AZT conjugate displayed sustained release of the active compound over a period of 48 h.
