Temperature Effects on the Mechanical Behaviour of PAEK Thermoplastic Composites Subjected to High Strain Rates Under Compression Loading

•Strain-rate and temperature dependent failure criterion for woven composites.•Off-axis angle plays a role on the stress uniformity at high strain rates.•Crystallinity degree is not affected by the strain rate effects.•Cold environment led to an increase of strength and specific energy properties.•Overall mechanical behaviour more sensitive to temperature than strain rate effects.
