•Eurasian ionosonde and GPS/GLONASS receiver chains data are used for ionosphere study.•Specific longitudinal variability of the geomagnetic field components were found.•Ionosphere response on magnetic storms exhibit a pronounced longitudinal irregularity.•Molecular gas disturbances play important role in the midlatitude ionosphere dynamics.
