摘要
Introduction: Cardiorespiratory failure (CF) requires adherence to pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment. Factors such as anxiety, depression and decreased functional capacity can negatively influence adherence. Objective: To investigate differences in anxiety, depression and functional capacity between CF patients with partial and total adherence. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted, involving 64 CF patients. The Martín-Bayarre-Grau (MGB) questionnaire for therapeutic adherence and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) were applied. The patients performed the 6-minute walk test, distance traveled in meters is an indicator of functional capacity. The patients were divided into two groups according to the level of adherence: G1: partial and G2: total. Student t test was used in SPSS v25 to determine differences. Results: Sociodemographic data G1: 65.70±12.42 years, 70.4% women (w); G2: 66.62±14.04 years, 51.4% w, no statistically significant differences. Statistic significant differences (p>0.05) between both groups (G1 vs G2) were found in anxiety score (6.44±4.39 vs 3.94±3.90), depression score (6.11±4.79 vs 3.56±3.59) and functional capacity (208.53±131.14 m vs 305.98±143.97 m). Conclusion: Partial adherence patients have a higher level of anxiety, depression and more deteriorated functional capacity compared to those with total adherence. These variables must be considered in the comprehensive approach of patients to increase the effectiveness of treatments.
