摘要
Background: Interstitial Pulmonary Disease (IPD) has different comorbidities, including anxiety and depression. Which affect directly and indirectly its functionality and generate complications in the treatment and quality of life of the patient. Aim: To investigate the predictive factors of depression in IPD patients. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 66 patients diagnosed with IPD. The SF-12 Questionnaire was used to measure health related quality of life and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was applied to evaluate anxiety and depressions symptoms. In addition, the patient9s perception about the pressure derived from the changes in his life due to the disease and his perception of limitation was evaluated. A multiple linear regression model analysis was performed using the SPSS v25 software. Results: The average age of the sample was 62.86 ± 10.86 years, 69.7% men. The regression model (F(3, 41)=41.04, p<0.001, R^2 = 0.665) included: depression (t=-4.59, p=0.000, β=-0.470), perception of the pressure of the disease (t=2,712, p=0.009, β=0.258) and perception of limitation (t=-2.910, p=.005, β=-0.247) which explain 66.5% of the total variance of the model. Conclusions: The present study shows that depression and the patient9s perception of their state of health influence the quality of life of the IPD patients. It is necessary to address and investigate more about this problem to have a better prognosis and development of the disease, through interdisciplinary care to reduce risk factors and improve their quality of life.
