摘要
Australia is currently suffering one of the worst bushfires in history in the summer of 2019-2020. This study aims to integrate both multispectral and microwave remote sensing imagery acquired by the satellites of Sentinel-1 and -2 of European Space Agency (ESA) to assess the fire severity caused by the recent fires in the outskirts of Sydney in 2018 and 2019-2020. Time-series analysis of the derived indices were examined to quantify the variation of the indices to the damages to the vegetation communities due to fires as well as the recovery. The results will improve our knowledge on how the indices are correlated to biophysical properties of the vegetation.
