Abstract
This paper proposes a stray inductance-based current sensing method with a method to reduce the temperature-dependent DCR effect on the sensing accuracy. In the power module, there are a Kelvin pin and a power source pin which can be used to measure the switching current in the power loop. The voltage drop between these two pins has the information of the current, R*i and the current change, L*di/dt. This paper proposes a method to measure the switching current with the function of removing the DCR effect from the sensed signal which is sensitive to the temperature variation. Simulation study has been done to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
