Palmoplantar keratoderma (PPK) with deafness (OMIM:148350) is a well-known form of PPK characterised by palmoplantar hyperkeratosis and deafness, which is largely caused by mutations in GJB2 encoding connexin 26.1 The m.7445A\u003eG mitochondrial DNA mutation also underlies deafness-associated PPK.2.
