Microstructures and cyclic hot corrosion behavior of laser deposited Inconel 718 alloy under different heat treatment conditions

•Severe elemental micro-segregation occurs in as-deposited Inconel 718 alloy.•Laves phase disappears and recrystallization takes place after solution treatment.•1100STA specimen has better hot corrosion resistance than DA and as-deposited specimens.•As-deposited Inconel 718 has poor resistance due to the segregation of Nb and Mo.
