Design and Simulation of Low Voltage Dual Supply Schmitt Trigger with Variable Hysteresis

This paper presents a low voltage dual supply differential CMOS Schmitt trigger. The design aims to cater variable hysteresis that can swing from a negative output to positive output using Self-biasing technique. The proposed Schmitt trigger circuit is designed using LTSpice and based from 0.18um CMOS technology and can operate with -1.5 V to 1.5V dual supply. Hysteresis was primarily analyzed and other parameters checked were propagation delay, slew rate and energy-delay product. The design provided hysteresis width having negative to positive output range which can be used for future low voltage purposes requiring dual input voltages.
