摘要
•A novel solar tracker with parallel mechanism was proposed and designed.•The tracker can track the sun in a wide range of angles and the moving platform is decoupled.•The kinematics characteristics of the U-PRU-PUS parallel mechanism were analyzed based on screw theory.•The viability of the solar tracker was measured and compared with the theoretical tracking range.
