The technique has become one of the mainstream techniques in the industry. However, the biggest restriction factor in the technical implementation is cost increase which is brought in the high-density acquisition. Frequency separated simultaneous sweep (FSSS) is a high-efficiency vibroseis acquisition method of separating the conventional sweep signal into independent sub-sweep signals with different frequency bandwidth, and arranging the orthogonal sub-sweep signals for simultaneous shooting by different fleets through encoding. It is easy for the separation of the signal and the noise by using correlation. But the challenges to using such a method are the limitation of the number of sub-signals in DSD and high requirements of field operation management system and communication network for real-time control. This paper mainly introduces the implementation of FSSS through the cascade encoding technology to rearrange the sub-signatures as a new signature and realize simultaneous sweep or independent sweep technique and shows the application effects.Presentation Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2020Session Start Time: 1:50 PMPresentation Time: 2:40 PMLocation: Poster Station 9Presentation Type: PosterKeywords: vibroseis, acquisition, simultaneous sourcePermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2020-3409644.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetails SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2020ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2020 Pages: 3887 publication data© 2020 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 30 Sep 2020 CITATION INFORMATION Fei Luo, Yimeng Zhang, Ze Wang, Ruizhen Wang, Hongliang Cui, and Xuming Bai, (2020), "The application of cascade encoding frequency separated simultaneous sweep," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 121-125. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2020-3409644.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsvibroseisacquisitionsimultaneous sourcePDF DownloadLoading ...
