PREDICTORS OF MORTALITY IN PATIENTS TREATED WITH EXTRACORPOREAL MEMBRANE OXYGENATION FOR CARDIOGENIC SHOCK COMPLICATING ACUTE MI: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW AND META-ANALYSES
Canadian Journal of Cardiology(2020)
摘要
Cardiogenic shock is associated with high mortality (as high as 50%) after acute myocardial infarction (MI). Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has the potential to improve outcomes in these patients by providing hemodynamic support. However, the mortality rate for ECMO for acute MI is high which raises potential concerns about futility. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to identify factors that help select patients at higher risk of short term mortality post- ECMO for acute MI and in doing so identify the subset of patients who are unlikely to benefit from ECMO initiation.
