Constructing reduced graphene oxide network aerogel supported TiO2(B) (Bronze phase TiO2) as anode material for lithium-ion storage

In this paper, a simple solvothermal method is used to prepare flower-like TiO2(B) (Bronze phase TiO2) and denoted it as FTOB. FTOB hydrothermal react with GO, and then the product freeze-dried to obtain TiO2(B)@reduced graphene oxide aerogel and denoted it as TRA. The flower-like TiO2(B) anchor on the three-dimensional RGO network, which exhibits large surface for the lithium-ion intercalation and diffusion. Cyclic voltammetry curves show that TRA as negative electrodes can improve electron and Li ion transport, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy shows that TRA has a smaller charge transfer resistance. By calculating the pseudocapacitive contribution of cyclic voltammetry curves at different sweep speeds, it is found that TRA has potential applications in rapid charge and discharge. The electrochemical examination unravels the three-dimension TRA with the high capacity of 196.8 mAhg(-1) and 165.6 mAhg(-1) at the rate of 5 and 10C, respectively; moreover, it also indicates the high capacity retention of 78% and 80% even after 1000 cycles.
