An efficient stereoselective total synthesis of Diplodialide A has been achieved from inexpensive and commercially available starting material ( R )-propylene oxide. This linear synthesis utilizes Wittig reaction, alkylation of 1,3-dithiane and Yamaguchi macrolactonization as key steps. Graphic abstract
