Abstract
A 15-year-old white female patient presented to the dental office complaining of right side swelling of maxilla of unknown duration. Intraoral examination revealed buccal swelling from the upper right lateral incisor to the upper right deciduous second molar and nasal obstruction. There was no pain, and the covering mucosa was normal. Panoramic radiograph showed a unilocular radiolucent area associated with a large calcified mass and displacement of the impacted maxillary right canine and the first and the second premolar. Cone beam computed tomography images revealed a well-defined expansive lesion with thinned cortical plates. Inside of the lesion, a large high-density structure surrounded by a low-density halo was observed. An excisional biopsy was performed. On the basis of histopathologic features the lesion was diagnosed as calcifying odontogenic cyst (Gorlin cyst) in association with a complex odontoma. The patient is under follow-up and shows no signs of recurrence.
