摘要

•A snakin gene of Panax notoginseng, PnSN1, was characterized.•PnSN1 responds to Fusarium solani infection and is induced by several signal molecules.•The PnSN1 recombinant protein has obvious antifungal activity in vitro.•Overexpression of PnSN1 in tobacco confers strong resistance to Fusarium solani.•Suppression of PnSN1 expression in Panax notoginseng leaves increases the susceptibility to Fusarium solani infection.
