Abstract
•Subcritical water hydrolysis was evaluated for obtaining fermentable sugars in a semi-continuous mode.•Hydrolysis at 220 °C presented up to 10.5 g reducing sugars per 100 g soybean biomass.•Glucose, xylose, arabinose, cellobiose, furfural and organic acids were obtained.
