Integration of crop and livestock enhanced soil biochemical properties and microbial community structure

•The ICL system had a much greater impact on soil enzyme activities than CNT treatment.•Significantly higher microbial biomass was observed with the ICL system.•Total fungi and AMF responded positively to the ICL system and CC treatments.•The relative abundance of several bacterial genera changed under the ICL system.
