Tensile Behaviour of a 3D Printed Lattice Structure
2020 11th International Conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (ICMAE)(2020)
摘要
An additive technology can produce complex geometries which might not have been possible to produce using traditional manufacturing techniques. One such geometry is a lattice structure that can lighten the core of a component. The article deals with the investigation of tensile properties of the samples made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) material. Two types of cylindrical lightened samples (with a simple lattice structure and in the form of a tube) were analyzed experimentally. FDM (Fused Deposition modelling) technique and filament of a 1.7 mm diameter were selected for the samples production. The results showed that at almost the same cross-section area of the samples, the lattice structure can carry a higher tensile yield strength compared with a shelled tube sample.
