Copper(II) and Nickel(II) complexes of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug indomethacin containing aromatic chelating N,N-donor ligand: Synthesis and structural studies

•Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes synthesized of NSAIDs drug indomethacin.•Cu(II) is in square pyramidal and Ni(II) is in octahedral geometry.•Single crystal X-ray structures reveals non covalent interactions.•FT-IR reveals the monodentate coordination of indomethacin ligand.•The decomposition product was characterized by PXRD studies.
