Rough-fruit amaranth Amaranthus tuberculatus (Amaranthaceae): a new alien species in the flora of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans

The rough-fruit amaranth Amaranthus tuberculatus was discovered in September 2019 during fieldwork \nin the vicinity of Tuzla city (northeastern Bosnia). A. tuberculatus is native to North America but has been \nintroduced in some areas beyond its natural range. This is the first record of this species for Bosnia and \nHerzegovina and the Balkans. The paper presents a short morphological description and photographs of the \nspecies based mainly on the collected specimens, as well as distribution of the taxon.
