Abstract
The hull structure of the ship block is complex and the number of its constituted components is very large. In order to reduce the rework of the construction process, an augmented reality (AR) assisted information visualization and process guidance system is proposed. Based on the 3D model and the fabrication process of the ship block, a fabrication process information (FPI) model of the ship block is established for the augmented reality system. With the help of the Microsoft HoloLens, the human-computer interface is designed by defining gestures and voice commands. The prototype system is developed, and case study and user test are conducted to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the system.
