Permanent Settlement and Control Standard of High Fill Embankments on Rock Slope under Complicated Stress Conditions

Compared with a general roadbed, a high fill embankment has characteristics such as greater height, larger cumulated settlement and its stability should be technically analyzed. A high fill embankment is one of the most important projects in highway engineering. The roadbed settlement in highway construction, especially the differential settlements, may lead to the cleft and stagger of the pavement, and largely affect the quality of driving as well as the operational life span. So how to reduce the settlement and get rid of the danger made by the settlement has been an important subject in highway construction and the research has important significance. The existing roadbed fill embankment of high specification is general that restricting the construction of mountain highway. To master the deformation law for a high fill embankment on a rock slope in complicated stress conditions, monitoring systems are established to monitor the settlement of a high embankment with strong weathering fill, a high embankment on a rock slope and a high rock fill on an abrupt slope embankment, respectively. Through analysis of settlement of high fill embankment stability under complicated stress conditions, the conclusions of the permanent settlement law of high fill embankments in "S" shape, "V" shape and abrupt slope conditions are made in detail. And the relationship between the maximum cumulative settlement and filling height is expressed by the function under different conditions after that. Lastly, the control standard of settlement is given to guarantee the stability and regularity of the roadbed for a high embankment with strong weathering fill and a high embankment on a rock slope, as well as a high rock fill on an abrupt slope embankment.
