The tailored requirements of clothing personalization have been gradually formed, but the current garment computer aided design (CAD) systems still remain at the level of interactive aided design. These systems have limitations concerning the application of professional knowledge of garments. Apparel pattern drawing still depends on the pattern makers, and there are disadvantages of low design efficiency and unreliable design results. Such systems are limited by the construction of a garment pattern database and cannot fully satisfy the customer's demand for personalized clothing. Therefore, the "one person, one pattern" concept of intelligent clothing using CAD can be fully, accurately and efficiently employed as a way to solve personalized customization. Software is a tool for knowledge manifestation. The amount of knowledge determines the level of manufacturing and the level of knowledge solidification determines the efficiency of software design. Therefore, this paper adopts a horizontal comparison plate-making experimental method and describes the process knowledge of two men's suits with different plate-making methods. According to the complex and intertwining features of the garment plate-making process, this paper proposes a method for acquiring process plate-making knowledge based on a directed graph model in order to realize the manifestation of plate-making knowledge in garment processes. This paper conducts a process analysis of this knowledge and lays a theoretical foundation for making full use of hardware resources and improving the computational efficiency of intelligent clothing plate-making systems.
